Cusco the formerly the capital of the extensive Inca empire, it retains much of its highly crafted early stone architecture, which is typically preserved in the foundations of temples, Inca palaces, ancient streets etc, Emjoy to visit the Inca main temple of the sun “Koricancha, the great fortress Sacsayhuaman, The cathedral, shrines Qenqo and Tambomachay. On the valley: Pisac ruins, Pisac artesany market, Ollantaytambo, Inca village Chinchero, the salt mines! and finally Machu Picchu!.
Itinerary
1t day
Arrival in the morning at Cusco airport, where our representative will assit you there and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon the Cusco city and ruins: Sacsayhuaman fortress, the cathedral of Cusco, Koricancha sun temple, Qenqo and Puca pucara ruins, from 1.30 to 6pm
2nd day
The sacred valley to visit Pisac ruins, after Pisac artisan market, later drive through the Urubamba valley, after lunch the visit to Ollantaytambo fortress. later a train to Machu picchu town for a hotel there. (B)
3rd day
Early in the morning your guide will take you for the tour of Machu Picchu, then later in the afternoon the train back to Cusco. (B).
Option: to stay overnight for the next day back to Machupicchu to do the extra tours to Huaynapicchu mountain or to the Inca bridge, Sungate etc.
4th day
A free day to explore Cusco by yourself, with chance to visit some good museums (we provide you those tickets for some specific museums) also you can visit the main food market “San Pedro” or a visit to the artist district “San Blas” etc. (B)
5th day
Tour Moray and Salt mines, it’s a half day tour from 8am to 1pm. Moray is a complex of Inca circular terraces that were built up in the mountains at 3,500mts where archeologist deduced it was a laboratory for the adaptations of other different new food to grow at those high elevations. And later a visit to the other impressive salt mines that was exploited from pre-Inca times for the preservations of meat, also for the mummifications of their ancient authorities.
6th day
pick up from your hotel to be transferred to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima or to an extension to Lake Titicaca or to the Amazon tour etc.(B)
